IAMAI brings on board VMAX as a founding partner for Mobile 10X program along with Google and Paytm to drive the mobile app revenue to Rs10,000 crore by 2019
Mumbai: VMAX, an app monetization platform with presence in India and Southeast Asia today announced an alliance with Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) as a founding partner for its Mobile 10X program.
Under this initiative, VMAX along with Google, Paytm and IAMAI will come together to boost the app ecosystem in India. The founding partners will work in unison to educate, engage, evangelize and enable app developers in India.
VMAX will play a crucial role in Mobile 10X by running workshops, hackathons, job fests, app fests and mentorship programs across India.
Mobile 10X will also have five startup hubs across five Indian cities in the next five years. These unique startup hubs will include app testing facilities, design labs, co-working spaces, play zones and monetization zones.
The monetization zones will be powered by VMAX, where app developers will be mentored on monetization, hence transforming them from being app developers to ‘App Entrepreneurs.’
The Mobile 10X program aims to scale up the mobile app revenue from Rs1,000 crore to Rs10,000 crore by 2019, along with increasing the number of mobile app developers in India from 50 thousand to 5 lakh in five years.
“The ‘Digital India’ initiative will propel India to emerge as a digital superpower. It is my firm belief that ‘Digital India’ will be driven by ‘Mobile India’, with mobile apps playing a central role in this growth surge,” said Dippak Khurana, Founder & CEO – VMAX.
“This is an opportune moment for ‘App Entrepreneurs’ to make apps for the Indian consumer. Our partnership with IAMAI’s Mobile 10X is a testimonial to our belief that this is an era of ‘App Entrepreneurs’ and they will be a key driver in the success of ‘Digital India’,” added Khurana.
Subho Ray, President – Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) said that Mobile 10X is in line with the mission of the Indian government to boost the Indian startup ecosystem with funds worth Rs1,000 crore set aside for technology startups in the budget 2015-16.
“These are exciting times and our vision is clear – that Mobile 10X will spearhead the app revolution in India. We are thrilled to bring on board VMAX as founding partner, as they share our passion for the growth of the app ecosystem,” said Ray.
